PROPERTIES offering accommodation for the London 2012 Olympic Games can show off their high standards thanks to a new scheme.
East Herts Council has signed an agreement with Airport Lettings, which manages a number of properties in the area, to carry out assessments that will ensure places putting people up meet a minimum and acceptable standard of quality.
The Local Accommodation Assessment Scheme, which will be rolled out across the country, aims to introduce a national standard.
Anne Martinelli, who has worked at Airport Lettings for 10 years, will carry out the stringent assessments in East Herts after being trained by the national tourist board Visit Britain.
She said: “We want people to feel at home wherever they are staying. Therefore, safety and cleanliness are of paramount importance to us.
